Welcome to the Website of the Sensors and Electronic Instrumentation Research group of the Department of Information Engineering University of Brescia (D.I.I.) - Faculty of Engineering of the University of Brescia.

The main group was established in 1972.
The activity was to design electronic instrumentation for application in the field of high energy physics (links with INFN and CESNEF). Since then, a lot of experience have been carried out on the development of low cost measurement instrumentation and electronic circuit for signal conditioning in the sensors field: in particular circuits for the optimization of the signal to noise ratio were developed. In the realization of compact measurement equipments the laboratory offers facilities like LCA, development system for microprocessor and DSP.

In 1986 the group began by developing analog and digital electronics for sensors and testing commercial sensors. Since the beginning the laboratory has increased its instrumentations continously to extend its testing capabilities to characterize the main mechanical sensing devices (accelerometer, pressure, strain force sensors). In 1989, an infrared oven and related instrumentations made it possible to expand the laboratory capabilities in building new sensors based on the thick film technology. Since then, a lot of traditional and new sensors have been developed; many of them equipped with electronics integrated on their substrate.
